About flying octopuses – or other animals living on the bottom

After more than 2000 dives in my life, I have never seen an octopus (or a frogfish, or a Pegasus, or something like that) “flying”, or moving enough far from the bottom to permit to photographer to take pictures from below, same as many I’m seeing in internet, some of them also winners of international competitions.

It’s an evident case of shooting a not-natural behaviour, induced by the dive guide to help the photographer, but harassing the animal. I think there is a limit that we shouldn’t pass over.

So please, dear judges of photo competition: pay more attention to such things. Our amazing wildlife is really damaged by this activity.
