Nudibranch Abnormalities

I was surfing on internet trying to find something that could explain this (an abnormality similar to a trumpet on the nudibranch’s head):

It seems that abnormalities in these snails are not so uncommon.

In the Sea Slug Forum there are a lot of examples: three rinophores, bifurcate/trifurcate rinophores, gills and mantle alterations, even a curious “hooded” nudibranch.
